Lift your bag with colours

Maximise your impact with a brightly coloured bag. We have a wide range of standard colours, and our dyeing plant can match any PANTONE® shade or fabric swatch.

STANDARD JUTE SHADES

If you are ordering under 1000 jute bags you can choose from these standard shades - we'll send you a swatch on request.

For 1000 bags or more we are able to match any pantone number.

Dyeing cloth is an art and a science.

We use advanced dyeing techniques and the most modern plant in the business to ensure a faithful, non-fade, waterfast dye using natural dyestuffs wherever possible. All our dyes are AZO-FREE and REACTIVE so you can be sure of a consistent and safe result.

Colour your world

We are known for our fine materials, careful finishing and sharp print. The extra care that we put into our bags goes also into our dyeing, with a dedicated dye plant alongside our main production unit in India. All dyes are fully compliant with all international standards, including EU REACH regulations.

In pursuit of precision

Dyeing jute is not easy – as a textile, it does not take dye as readily as cotton, silk or wool. What’s more, due to natural variations in the fabric itself, different batches will take the same dye differently.

There are several reasons for this:
- the plant fibre itself is prone to variations in thread width and cellulose levels
- there are variations in moisture levels (including some very humid conditions) which affect the dyeing process
- vegetable oil is used in making jute yarn - the type of oil used and variations in the amount retained by the fibre will both affect the final result.
- precise colours depend on how long ago the fibre was harvested. So the same dye process in October (freshly harvested jute) will produce a different result from August (harvested ages ago).

Whether we are working with cotton or jute, we check and recheck against the shade specified. If a batch fails our strict quality control, we redye it until it’s as close as possible. For perfectionists, this may fall short of an absolutely perfect match - colour variances of 5 per cent or so are industry norms.

Good to know

Minimum run for jute: 500 units (limited range of standard shades). For pantone match, minimum is 1000.

Minimum run for cotton: 1000 units.

Please specify your shade against our swatch or provide a PANTONE® colour in the uncoated or TPX series. We will match it as well as we can.
